Software
Free, native, self-contained tools I build and run myself. No installers-of-installers, no telemetry, no accounts — download and run.
More info → Run anyway; on Linux
chmod +x the file first. Nothing here phones home.
Kalafior · privacy browser · ungoogled-chromium fork
A debloated fork of ungoogled-chromium: Google's telemetry, background sync and binary blobs stripped out, full Chromium-extension compatibility kept. Version 149.0.7827.155-1.1.
DupeCat · duplicate file finder · C#
A hardware-accelerated deduplicator for large storage: multi-tier size/block/hash comparison, a persistent hash catalog so repeat scans finish fast, and an optional CUDA edition that offloads hashing to an NVIDIA GPU.
Legacy Windows XP / 2000 builds need .NET Framework 4.0. Linux builds are self-contained (no Wine, no .NET runtime).
Zoiper · chunk-based archiver · C#
A solid-state, chunk-based compressor. A rolling-hash splitter finds identical data blocks globally across a dataset and stores each unique chunk once — so a second archive of near-identical data (game folders, VM images, incremental backups) costs only the delta. Native Avalonia GUI, near-instant single-file extraction.
The Linux build runs on CPU (CUDA is not bundled).
Tasker · work recorder · C#
A task-focused work recorder — like Notepad, but built to keep you on task. Run several tasks at once, pause and resume with real time sessions (the total never resets), attach captioned screenshots as you go, then export a self-contained HTML5 ticket with the full timeline embedded. Saved locally per day — no account, no cloud.
Linux: chmod +x Tasker_Linux && ./Tasker_Linux. Needs a desktop session and common
libraries such as libfontconfig1 and libice6/libsm6 (present on most desktops).
System Monitor · hardware soak · C# / C
A compact system / storage health desk: DMI and CPU info, NVMe SMART (log page 0x02), live disk I/O with sparklines, Chudnovsky π CPU soak (saturate all cores), pattern+CRC RAM test, and ECC counters (WHEA on Windows, EDAC on Linux). Same idea on both platforms — WinForms on Windows, GTK3 on Linux.
Windows: self-contained single file (no .NET install). Run elevated for full NVMe SMART.
Linux: chmod +x SystemMonitor_Linux && ./SystemMonitor_Linux — needs GTK3 and GMP
(libgtk-3-0, libgmp10 on Ubuntu 22.04+). Use sudo for NVMe SMART / some DMI fields.
